Two 13 Year Old Boys Drown in the Juniata River.
This is for all of my family, all of our friends and anyone who has ever spent one minute on the Juniata or any other river.
Please respect the river and wear your lifejackets…..!!!
On Friday Robrandi and I received a call from Fannie. She told us that two young boys had drowned in an 80 foot deep hole in the Juniata River near McVeytown. As many of you know, our cottage is located on the Juniata River between Lewistown and McVeytown so this happened very close to home. Fannie may have exaggerated the depth of the hole but regradless, this is a tragic event.
Here is a link to the Lewistown Sentinel with more details. Corner: Teens drown in Juniata River
Where were their parents….? I don’t know but this is why I’m a fanatic about safety when in, around or traveling on water. Everyone needs to learn to swim, wear a life jacket, respect the power of the river, and know the hazards.
