Yesterday afternoon, the five exhibiting photographers from the Harrisburg Camera Club, including Geoff Crego, Andrew Hoff, Don Uvick, Bob Willis and myself had the great opportunity to speak in the “Artist Conversations” series. This series of conversational tours is hosted by the Pennsylvania State Museum in conjunction with the Art of the State exhibit and it is in it’s second year.
The conversation was facilitated by Beth Hager, Chief, Education and Outreach Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and Don Giles, Photographer, Media Specialist The State Museum of Pennsylvania. There were perhaps 15 to 20 museum visitors including several other camera club members who joined the tour. The tour was an hour long presentation wherein each of photographers had an opportunity to discuss their images with the museum visitors and staff. The event was very informal, it ran very smoothly and there was a good amount of comment from the museum visitors. The topics went from purely artistic to highly technical and everywhere in between. I had a wonderful time and from the comments that I received, I think that it’s safe to say that the event was a success!
Many congratulations to Geoff, Andy, Don and Bob. These guys are truly talented photographers. A big THANK YOU to Beth Hager and Don Giles for organizing this event! It was awesome!
I managed to take a couple of photographs with my point and shoot. I was trying not to use flash so some of these are not so sharp. Anyway, please enjoy … and if you have any comments I’d love to hear them.
