The opening of the Photo Op Photography Exhibit on Friday at the Mechanicsburg Art Center School & Galleries was very nice! Robrandi and I both had a wonderful time. There was hors d’oeuvres, wine, great photography and good conversation. Many thankx to Jeannine Swartz and all of the fine folks at the Art Center for hanging the exhibit and putting together a wonderful opening. The photographers from the Winners photo to the left are:
Front Row: Sherryl Heberlig, Lori Snyder, Gail Mitchell
Back Row: Yours Truly, J. Arthur Davis, Don Uvick, Richard Messner
There are fifty-three photographs hung in the exhibit, most of which are for sale. All of the images were judged by John Wright, a professional photographer and Joe Farrell, a photography instructor and tour leader.
The judges did a wonderful job and really selected some nice images for this show. From the exhibit catalogue:
Statement from Judging Team:
“We were looking for technical excellence, creativity and composition, display presentation and most importantly how the artist chose to grab the viewer’s attention and make us want to explore and linger on the image. It was a difficult task for us as there were so many outstanding and quality pieces of work displayed. The quality just shows how the art form of photography is moving forward partially due to the advances go digital imaging.”

The Art Center is open Monday thru Friday from 10:00Am until 4:00PM and on most Saturdays from 10:00AM until 2:00PM. It is located in the big red barn at 18 Artcraft Drive in Mechanicsburg, PA. If you can get out to the gallery, I highly recommend it. I have included the exhibit catalogue above which lists all of the contributing photographers, the names of their images and the prices.
The photographs below are my entries in the show.
All comments are welcome. Please contact me if anyone knows if Joe Farrell has a website.
